What does it take to repair an axle?

At HRA, our axle specialists strip the axle down to its bare housing before repairing it. To do this, you must remove the bearing set, ring gear, rotors, and axle shafts. To straighten the axle, we put it on the lathe. The axle is also shaped on the lathe to factory specifications. By restoring the axle, future issues are minimized. We then cut off any damaged spindle ends that are on the axle. After that, we will use our in-house manufactured replacement spindle end. The replacement spindle end is then welded onto the axle. Our last step is to assemble the axle, paint it, and then fill it with fluid.

Rebuilt Axle Assembly: How do we do it?

Rebuilding an axle begins with removing components from the axle. Afterwards, the axle is thoroughly cleaned by HRA’s specialists. We use a high-quality OEM replacement ring and pinion set to replace the axle’s ring and pinion set. Next, we replace the axle bearings. Timken is the bearing of choice for us. Among bearing manufacturers, Timken is the industry standard. The axle shafts are then swapped with a high-quality inspected refurbished axle shaft. A new axle shaft will be used if necessary. We will then turn or replace any rotors if they are bolted behind the hub. In this way, we can ensure that brake pads applied to the rotor work as they should. Lastly, we reassemble, paint, and fill the axle with fluid.
